Essential Travel Tips for Antalya & Alanya First-Timers
Everything you need to know about currency, weather, airport procedures, and transportation before landing on the Turkish Riviera.

Visiting the Turkish Riviera for the first time is an exciting experience, but a little preparation goes a long way. To ensure your vacation is smooth and stress-free, we have gathered essential tips covering airport arrivals, currency, and local transit. Antalya and Alanya are incredibly welcoming, but knowing these details will save you time and money.
Firstly, when landing at Antalya Airport (AYT), ensure you have completed your e-visa (if required for your nationality) before arrival. After passport control and baggage claim, you will exit the terminal. If you booked a private transfer, your chauffeur will be waiting outside. Note that cash is widely preferred for transport services; we accept Euros, US Dollars, British Pounds, and Turkish Liras directly in the vehicle.
For currency exchange, avoid exchanging large amounts at the airport as rates are less favorable. Wait until you reach Alanya center where local exchange offices offer better rates. Finally, remember to pack light, breathable clothing, but bring a light jacket for breezy evenings by the harbor. Have a wonderful stay on our sunny shores!
